Abstract

Castel del Monte è avvolto nel mistero. All’edificio fatto costruire da Federico II di Svevia si possono attribuire innumerevoli significati più o meno veritieri ma una cosa è certa: la sua bellezza emoziona ed incanta. È una bellezza razionale generata da forme perfette in ogni dettaglio, derivante da concetti matematici come la sezione aurea che definisce e realizza il concetto di bellezza. Qui ogni elemento è simbolico, posto tra cielo e terra: vuole rappresentare la perfezione dell’Imperatore tramite l’armonia della forma, del numero e del dettaglio naturalisti-co.

The building has been built by Federico II di Svevia, and it has innumerable meanings, more or less truthful, but one thing is sure: its beauty excites and enchants.
